The City of Green River's 54,000 square foot Recreation Center offers an entire slate of year-round health, wellness, and recreation activities. Find out more about all the things you can do "for the Health of it" at the Green River Recreation Center.

The Parks and Recreation Department maintains and operates over 750 acres of both developed and undeveloped park land. The Expedition Island Park Pavilion is an historical site available to rent for recreational and leisure events. Check out the Facilities Section to reserve a facility today.

The Parks and Recreation Department is an agency member of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and the Wyoming Recreation and Park Association (WRPA); staff are very active in the Midwest Regional Council of NRPA. The Department is one of only 79 agencies in the country to be nationally accredited for excellence in its managment and operations by the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). The Department is the only parks and recreation agency in the State of Wyoming that is CAPRA Accredited.

In 2008 the City of Green River demonstrated creative commitments to the cause of play, and was 1 of 67 communities across the country to be recognized as a Playful City. Click here for the press release.
