Water Distribution

The Water Distribution System is designed to maintain water quality from the point of entry at the Water Treatment Plant, which is operated by the Joint Powers Water Board, to the point of use by citizens of the City of Green River.

Here are some of our tasks in the Distribution System:

• Deliver safe drinking water;
• Maintain approximately 90 miles of water mains;
• Maintain adequate water pressure to each home;
• Deliver adequate flow to each home and to meet firefighting requirements;
• Conduct several analyses to make sure that the water is safe to drink and meets all Federal regulations

And maintain the following:

• 4200 Meters
• 2500 Water Valves and Fire Hydrants
• 4 Pump Stations
• 25 Pressure Reducing Valves
• 3 Water Tanks
